Assessment

The assessment

Answer honestly: “partly” is a useful answer

  1. Your leadership team can name your top 10 critical risks and the owner of each.
  2. Each critical risk has defined critical controls with performance criteria.
  3. These controls are verified in the field at a set frequency, and gaps are acted on.
  4. Potentially serious events (pSIF) are reported, analysed and shared as learning opportunities.
  5. Your EHS dashboard shows leading indicators, not just injury rates.
  6. Corrective action quality is tracked through to real effectiveness, not just closure.
  7. Projects and changes go through a formal EHS review (EHS by Design, MOC, PSSR).
  8. A crisis team is in place, trained and exercised at least once a year.
  9. You know who will lead an independent investigation from the first hours of a serious accident.
  10. You can reach specialist expertise (process, chemistry, radiation…) when critical decisions are made.
